Application – Electrical Material Property Measurements
From metamaterials, with their widely varying permittivity and permeability values – which also depend on sample orientation – to high permittivity ceramics and “reconfigurable” materials (that change behavior with, for example, applied voltages), new types of measurement approaches are needed so that the functionality of such materials within devices can be predicted.
Our unique material test solutions are based on non-intrusive near-field mappings of both electric and magnetic fields within extremely close proximity to the surface of a material under test. Our unique material test solutions enable:
- High resolution near-field (E and H) mappings to determine material properties
- Characterization of evanescent fields
- Extraction of complete material tensors from measured vector field components
- Characterization of cross-coupling of electric and magnetic fields
Our innovative test solutions can reveal an unprecedented view of the electrical properties of materials versus variables such as position across a sample, the frequency or power of an incident signal, or the temporal nature of incident radiation.
